After doing research we have found the following information about the location of some of our artifacts history very informative and want to share it with others who are interested.
EGYPT
The people who made the Fayum points are from the Neolithic time period. These people were a dual agricultrual and hunting, fishing, and gathering people. These points come from the Fayum Valley in the desert along the west side of the Nile River about 60 miles south of Cairo. These points came from a private collection from many years ago.
AFRICA
There are 3 regions in the Saharan Neolithic Region. We will try to give a general knowledge about each region.
Spanish Saharan Neolithic - These points are of Capsian tradition. These arrowheads are not tanged. They are either shaped like a laurel or willow leaf or lozenge shaped. They are often pointed sometimes having rudimentary tangs or barbs. Some of these pieces are slightly serrated also. The most outstanding point made in the area is an elongated narrow bladelet in several different forms.
The Eastern Saharan Neolithic - This region does not contain flint. Yet, points were made of flint and obsidian from the Tibesti Vocano over flows. The points were used from Tibesti to the Kaouar. Tanged and barbed arrowhead from this area are very rare. for the most part points have straight, concave or convex bases. Retouching sometimes appears only on one face.
The Western Saharan Neolithic - In the western saharan foliated blades and knives that are often comparable to those of Egypt are found. The small worked stone artifacts found are comprised of small bladelets , micro bladelets which are sometimes tanged, and arrowheads which have usually been retouch on both sides. All of the Maghreb types are found as well as some special ones. The non tanged points that have concave or hollow bases are considered the oldest. They sometimes have lateral notches. Some points which are rectangular with squared wings and two points are called, "shield shaped", while others are called "Effel Towers". Arrowheads are sometimes lozenge-shaped or spindle shaped while still others are pistillate. The tanged arrowheads and those that have both tangs and wings are said to be the most recent. Some of the points that have teeth, sometime several, are said to have helped in fastening.
FRANCE Soultrean Artifacts -
The Upper Paleothic advanced flint tool making style is called the Solutrean Industry. It is named after the Solutre type site in eastern France. It appeared around19,000 BCE. The makers of these style tools used techniques not seen before and not rediscovered for millennia.
They made bifacial points that were realitively finely worked using pressure flaking. The pioneers of this flint working technique lived in modern France and Spain. They vanished from archaeological records around 15,000 BCE .
